The Metcalff Killer Sex Offender pensioner, George Kenny Metcalff, who sexually assaulted and killed a defenceless mother before disposing of her remains has died in prison.
George Kenny Metcalff, aged 72 at the time, received a life sentence in November 2021 for the murder of Patricia “Patti” Henry, whose remains have yet to be discovered despite thorough searches.
George Kenny Metcalff carried out offences against women spanning nearly half a century before murdering his victim Ms Henry, 47, at her flat in Kirkwood Place, Girvan, in South Ayrshire, on November 13 in 2017.
During a trial at the High Court in Edinburgh, he was convicted of assaulting her “by means to the prosecutor unknown” and causing her injury from which she died. He previously admitted to assaulting and raping Ms Henry at an address in Paisley as well as other attacks and rapes of two others in Renfrewshire.
George Kenny Metcalff began the series of crimes against women when he was aged 21 by raping a teenager at a car park in Gleniffer Braes in 1971 before going on to brutalise victims for years.
The court heard how he attempted to conceal the murder by concealing and disposing of Ms Henry’s body and personal items. Despite denying the killing, he was jailed for 18 years for the offences of rape and assault.
George Kenny Metcalff, 74, is understood to have died on August 30 at HMP Barlinnie. The cause of death is not currently known.
