A deviant HMP Kilmarnock paedophile, Gordon Sawers, has confessed to masturbating on a public bus in the presence of a group of children and threatening to rape a schoolgirl.
Gordon Sawers informed a primary school-aged girl that he intended to “rape and stab you” during the incident aboard the car heading between Kilmarnock and Ardrossan.
The 46-year-old admitted admission to five charges at his appearance at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Tuesday, November 26.
On February 25 of this year, police halted the Stagecoach vehicle in Kilwinning.
Gordon Sawers admitted to a charge of indecent communication with adolescent females, another allegation of indecently forcing a minor to overhear sexual communications and threatening her with sexual violence, in addition to an offence of public indecency.
The incident occurred at approximately 4 PM on the specified date, as stated by procurator fiscal depute Fraser Alexander in court, when Gordon Sawers was aboard the double-decker bus, seated in the back upper section.
A bunch of girls boarded and seated themselves near Gordon Sawers.
“Gordon Sawers subsequently initiated a dialogue with the girls.” Mr. Alexander informed the court that the conversation rapidly transitioned to a sexual nature.
“To clarify, only the accused was making any sexual references.”
The prosecutor subsequently enumerated several particular explicit comments made by Gordon Sawers, currently identified as an inmate at HMP Kilmarnock, directed towards two members of the group.
He informed the duo, “I will escort you to my residence and engage in sexual activity,” then stating, “I will administer heroin to you,” before cautioning that he would “become involved with your mother.”
Gordon Sawers issued additional remarks aimed at the group’s youngest member.
He expressed his intention to commit a sexual assault against the girl, stating, “I’m going to rape and stab you.”
The court was informed that Gordon Sawers thereafter engaged in a sexual act on himself, resulting in the minors being “distressed” and “visibly upset”.
At this juncture, another passenger on the bus alerted the driver about Gordon Sawers’ behaviour, prompting urgent contact with the authorities.
The bus stopped on Pennyburn Road, where authorities responded and located the perpetrator.
He was apprehended and sent to the Saltcoats police station, where he was cautioned, charged, and remained silent.
Gordon Sawers subsequently appeared in court and was given bail, a condition he violated twice in May of this year by being located outside his residence.
Defence attorney Brian Holliman requested a postponement of the sentencing to allow for the draughting of background checks and to address other unrelated unresolved issues.
Sheriff Nicola Patrick scheduled a sentencing date for the upcoming year, with the attorney withholding more remarks until that time.
Gordon Sawers will be detained in detention pending further proceedings and has been added to the sex offenders register during this period.
