A sexual predator, Eastbourne Paedophile Graham Paul Cleaver, found guilty of many historical offences will get a ten-year prison sentence.
Authorities reported that Graham Paul Cleaver, 59, consistently refuted allegations of indecently assaulting two acquaintances and attempting to rape one of them in Hove and Eastbourne throughout the 1970s and 1990s.
A 59-year-old resident, Graham Paul Cleaver, of Dovedale Gardens, Eastbourne, was jailed in 2016 at Lewes Crown Court following a guilty verdict in an eight-day retrial.
This follows a prior trial in which a jury was unable to reach a consensus, resulting in his acquittal for the rape of one of the women during her adolescence.
Graham Paul Cleaver was convicted of four counts of indecent assault against a girl aged between 15 and 17 at a residence in Hove from 1972 to 1974, as well as six counts of indecent assault and one count of attempted rape against a girl aged between seven and 12 at a residence in Eastbourne from 1994 to 1999.
Detective Constable Rex Petty, of the Brighton Safeguarding Investigations Unit, stated: “These offences were initially revealed when the elderly woman approached us in 2011.”
A meticulous and comprehensive inquiry ensued to reveal the complete facts of the events, although Graham Paul Cleaver consistently denied all allegations throughout the process.
The two victims persisted in supporting the prosecution, and their testimony ultimately substantiated the case against Graham Paul Cleaver.
