Guy Lawrence Miles, a 49-year-old Bournemouth paedophile, has been sentenced to over twenty years in prison for egregious sexual abuse against a minor.
Guy Lawrence Miles, residing on Palmerston Road in Bournemouth, was convicted of three counts of rape and indecent assault. He appeared at Caernarfon Crown Court today, December 12th, where he received a sentence of 22 years in jail.
In February 2021, law enforcement initiated an investigation into Miles after receiving an allegation alleging that he had sexually assaulted a kid in Bangor during the late 1990s.
After manipulating the victim, he proceeded to violently assault and abuse her for two years, instilling fear that prevented her from defending herself or reporting him.
Upon her return to the Bangor region as an adult some years later, Guy Lawrence Miles located her and assaulted her from behind, rendering her unconscious before fleeing from bystanders.
Guy Lawrence Miles is required to serve two-thirds of his sentence prior to eligibility for release.
He was issued an indefinite restraining order to safeguard the victim and a 30-year sexual harm prevention order.
Detective Constable Chris Renshaw stated: “This was a heinous case in which a vulnerable child was manipulated by a significantly older man and endured severe sexual violence over an extended duration.”
I like to express my gratitude to her for her bravery in reporting the acts and supplying evidence under exceedingly challenging conditions.
“I hope this case will encourage others who have been subject to sexual abuse to come forward, and be reassured their evidence will be heard, whilst serving as a reminder to any offenders of these despicable crimes that they will face the consequences of their actions – no matter how and when sexual abuse occurred.
“I hope the victim can find some comfort in today’s sentence and begin to move on with her life without any further fear.”
