Ivor Caplin, the former Labour MP for Hove, was apprehended today (Saturday, January 11) following an operation conducted by paedophile hunters.
The sting operation was broadcast live on Facebook, and additional footage of the arrest was disseminated online.
In a shocking twist, Sussex Police actually arrested the alleged paedophile but we are unsure if this is an attempt to pacify the public or to actually prosecute Ivor Caplin, we are betting that it is not the latter, let’s see.
Sussex Police stated: “We are cognisant of footage disseminating on social media depicting a man in Brighton being apprehended on suspicion of participating in online sexual communications with a minor.”
“Authorities have verified that a 66-year-old local man was apprehended on Saturday, January 11, and is presently in custody.”
“This investigation is currently active and ongoing.”
A 30-minute confrontation with Mr. Ivor Caplin, a former defence minister, was livestreamed on Facebook, garnering over 36,000 views and 3,000 comments.
The incident reportedly occurred near Hove railway station, and another footage of his detention at the same site was also disseminated online.
Mr. Ivor Caplin reportedly refutes any allegations of misconduct.
By the time we finished putting this up Ivor Caplin is now on unconditional bail for 3 months.
