A Trealaw Paedophile, Jack Gillard, was discovered with over 5,000 obscene photographs of children as young as six years old, in addition to AI-generated graphics depicting child abuse. His family attributed his misconduct to “fixated behaviour.”

Police attended the residence of 25-year-old Jack Gillard on intelligence regarding the downloading of child exploitation photographs. A raid occurred on July 26, 2023, during which several items were confiscated, including the defendant’s cell phone.

A sentencing hearing at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court on Friday revealed that Jack Gillard was arrested and remained silent.

Jack Gillard was transported to Merthyr Tydfil police station and once more refrained from commenting.

Prosecutor Hashim Salmman stated that a digital forensic analysis was performed on the confiscated devices, revealing approximately 5,000 photographs classified as categories A, B, and C on the defendant’s phone.

Additionally, there was illicit content produced by AI that illustrated the sexual assault of young girls by adult men.

A single category A film was available, defined as a compilation featuring children ages nine to fifteen engaged in various sexual activities with adult guys.

The youngest child illustrated in the photographs was about six years old.

A collection of screenshots was discovered, featuring websites and forums, along with a collage of photographs.

A total of 1,476 photos were classified as category A, 370 as category B, and 3,145 as category C.

Jack Gillard, of Trealaw Road, Trealaw, Tonypandy, pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images of children. The court heard he has no previous convictions.

In mitigation, it was said the defendant’s behaviour would “never happen again”. It was also said his family have concerns about “fixating behaviour, but he has been working hard on reducing his cannabis consumption.

Sentencing, the Recorder of Cardiff, Judge Tracey Lloyd-Clarke, said the defendant was a risk to children due to his “sexual interest in pre pubescent girls”.

Jack Gillard was sentenced to one year and 10 months imprisonment.

Jack Gillard was also made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and sex offender notification requirements for 10 years.
