Jack Powell, the Aylesbury Rapist, has been sentenced to prison for the crimes of rape and sexual assault by penetration.
Jack Powell, a 24-year-old resident of Griffin Lane, Aylesbury, was convicted of one crime of rape and one count of sexual assault by penetration. On Monday (2/9), he was sentenced to five and a half years in jail at Reading Crown Court.
Before this, Jack Powell had been convicted of the charges by a unanimous jury decision at the same court.
On July 7, 2020, Jack Powell committed the acts of rape and sexual assault against a woman in her twenties at a residence in Aylesbury.
Jack Powell was apprehended on July 17, 2020, and formally accused of the crimes on December 1.
Sergeant Samuel Summers said: “I would like to pay tribute to the victim in this case, as she has displayed tremendous dignity and bravery to support our investigation to bring Jack Powell to justice.
“It is a top priority of Thames Valley Police to tackle violence against women and girls in all its forms, and I am pleased that Jack Powell is now in prison where he belongs.
