A paedophile from Freshwater in the Isle of Wight, Jacques Barton, discovered in possession of abhorrent sexual abuse photographs of children as young as five and who sought ‘pre-puberty’ content, has evaded incarceration.

Jacques Barton of Hooke Close, Freshwater, was sentenced at the IW Crown Court on Friday, June 13.

The 23-year-old earlier confessed to three charges of producing indecent images or pseudo-photographs of minors.

He also acknowledged possessing illicit photographs of minors over the same period.

Prosecutor Tim Devlin stated that law enforcement identified an internet upload of abusive photographs linked to Barton’s IP address.

Mr. Devlin informed the court that Jacques Barton was apprehended at his grandmother’s residence and stated to the officers, “I anticipated this occurrence.”

Jacques Barton possessed Category A photos, the most egregious type, along with Category B and Category C images, in addition to other illicit depictions of minors.

During a prior hearing, the court was informed that Jacques Barton had searched the keyword “pre-puberty” and held photographs of boys and girls ranging from five years old to teens.

Jacques Barton received a 24-month community order, with 15 rehabilitation days.

He is required to pay a £500 penalty and £150 in expenses.
