A man, Jamal Armstrong, has been incarcerated for over 11 years for the sexual abuse of two minors. Jamal Armstrong, 35 (30.12.89), of no fixed address, received a sentence of 11 years and nine months’ imprisonment at Woolwich Crown Court on Friday, 21 March.
He was issued a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and a restraining order prohibiting contact with the victims.
Jamal Armstrong acknowledged two charges of sexual assault by penetration against a female under 13 and four charges of sexual assault against a female under 13 during his appearance at Woolwich Crown Court on Tuesday, 17 December 2024.
The incidents occurred at a location in Greenwich from November 2023 to August 2024.
The two victims, aged 12 at the time of the acts, were acquainted with Jamal Armstrong. In August 2024, they reported the offences to the authorities, prompting a prompt investigation by the Metropolitan authorities’s Public Protection South East squad.
Jamal Armstrong was apprehended by authorities on Tuesday, 14 August 2024, while attempting to exit the nation. He was subsequently indicted.
Over a span of four months, officers gathered many witness statements and a substantial body of evidence, culminating in a guilty plea.
Specialist officers assisted the victims during the inquiry.
Detective Constable Callum Boast, of the Metropolitan Police’s Public Protection South East team, expressed his sincere appreciation to the victims in this case for their remarkable bravery in approaching law enforcement and recounting the trauma of the abuse inflicted upon them by Jamal Armstrong.
“Jamal Armstrong is a perilous individual who has committed atrocious crimes against two girls with whom he is acquainted.” He will now serve a significant term of incarceration for his reprehensible conduct.
The impact of such prolonged abuse, both physical and psychological, cannot be overstated, and I hope today’s sentencing provides a measure of closure and solace to the victims and their families.
