A Gateshead Rapist, James Gregory, who self-reported to the police following the assault of a woman has been sentenced to eight years in prison.

James Gregory, 32, contacted law enforcement shortly after sexually assaulting a lady, admitting to having “pretty much raped” her through “unconsented” intercourse, as presented before Newcastle Crown Court.

He then entered a plea of not guilty to the charge of rape, asserting that he had issued a fake confession; however, the jurors rendered a verdict of guilty.

The victim expressed feelings of “anger, confusion, and filth” following the assault, as presented in court.

James Gregory, residing at Newbolt Court in Gateshead, is required to register as a sex offender for life.
