A “dangerous sexual predator”, from Wigan Paedophile James Lalley, has been punished for perpetrating sexual offences against young children in Bury and Bolton.

James Lalley, 50, from Wigan, perpetrated a sexual assault against a minor in Bury between 2008 and 2009.

Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court was informed that James Lalley also instigated a minor to participate in sexual activities in Bolton in 2021.

An inquiry into the incidents commenced in January 2021 following a report to law enforcement.

James Lalley received an 11-year prison sentence on Wednesday, January 15.

Detective Constable Matthew Foy of Greater Manchester Police expressed gratitude to the victims and their families for their courage in reporting the abuse.

“We recognise the difficulty they faced, yet their actions contributed to incarcerating a perilous sexual predator.”

“GMP is dedicated to safeguarding children in our communities and apprehending the offenders of sexual abuse.”

“We want to take this opportunity to reassure the victim-survivors of this kind of abuse that the passage of time is not a barrier to justice.
