James Scanlon rapist sex offender - Sale

Rapist James Scanlon (25/01/76) of Sedburgh Close, Sale, was charged with rape, two counts of sexual assault by penetration, actual bodily harm, and other serious offences.

Today, May 26, 2023, James Scanlon was sentenced at Minshull Street Crown Court following his conviction on charges of rape, sexual assault, and actual bodily injury.

The jury was apprised that the abuse culminated in June 2022, when James Scanlon physically confined the girl and subjected her to a prolonged and egregious sexual assault.

Detective Constable Jacob Corrigan, from GMP’s Trafford division, stated: “Initially, my thoughts are with the victim of this atrocious incident.” She has endured significant suffering because to James Scanlon. The victim will persist in receiving assistance from specialised services, enabling her to initiate the rehabilitation process.

“Sexual violence will not be tolerated in our communities, and we will continue to support every victim of sexual violence, sexual assault, and domestic abuse.

“I would urge anyone who has been sexually assaulted, abused, raped or in a coercive and controlling relationship to please talk to us.

“We can help you; we can give you the support you need, we can work with you to achieve justice and remove dangerous individuals from our communities. You are not alone.”
