A repeat Musselburgh Paedophile sex offender, James Storey, who informed police he ought to be “incarcerated indefinitely” following his arrest for violating the conditions of a sexual harm prevention order (SHPO), has evaded a prison sentence [NOT IN THE UK WE NEED TO LET HIM OUT ASAP].
James Storey, 34, was previously subjected to stringent conditions of a preventative order at Edinburgh Sheriff Court due to prior offences.
The court was informed that Storey had contacted the police to report that he had attempted to visit an online chat service on his phone but had panicked when he was unable to close the application.
Officers visited his residence on Links Road in Musselburgh the subsequent day to do a welfare check on the 34-year-old; however, he did not answer the door in a timely manner.
Edinburgh Sheriff Court was told that the officers could hear James Storey moving things around the property and he had shouted: “I’ll be just a minute.”
The officers were eventually allowed entry and James Storey immediately admitted he had been deleting the internet history on devices including a laptop, a mobile phone and a PlayStation 4.
He then led the officers into his bedroom, where he produced a second mobile phone that he had not declared and which had been hidden in a section cut out of his bed.
The court heard that the repeat offender told the officers he was “disgusting” and “should be locked up forever”.
It was also said he was “in a distressed state” during the incident on November 2 last year.
The court was told that James Storey was currently subject to the requirements of the sex offenders’ register to March 2034 and was also under the terms of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) until March 2029.
James Storey pleaded guilty to breaching the SHPO, which was imposed on March 28 last year, by deleting the internet history from a mobile device at his home on November 2 last year.
He also admitted to a charge of concealing a mobile phone that he had not previously declared on the same occasion.
James Storey was previously jailed for 16 months and placed on the sex offenders’ register for 10 years after he was convicted of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner with a sexual aggravation in March last year.
