A police officer, Sgt James Vandecar, has been terminated for exhibiting “sexist and misogynistic behaviour” against peers.
Sgt James Vandecar was mandated to depart from Essex Police following a disciplinary hearing that finished on 5 June.
In August 2021, the officer initiated an inappropriate and sexualised game while seven subordinate cops were on duty.
Deputy Chief Constable Andy Prophet stated, “The conduct of Sergeant James Vandecar was profoundly shocking.”
I commend the bravery of the officer who appropriately reported his disgusting conduct.
“The force is dedicated to addressing all offences against women and girls throughout Essex.”
Essex Police declared following the hearing: “He [Sgt James Vandecar] consistently made remarks and exhibited conduct that was inappropriate, sexist, offensive, derogatory, and unprofessional.”
The officer was found to have violated standards of professional conduct including authority, respect and civility, equality and diversity, duties and obligations, and discreditable behaviour.
