James Wright, the Sunderland Rapist, convicted of raping two women has been sentenced to eight years in prison. James Wright, 25, sexually assaulted both victims at his residence in Sunderland last year.
He also attacked one of the victims by hurling a cell phone at her.
The courageous victims informed the police of the events, leading to James Wright’s arrest in relation to the incidents.
Subsequent to two intricate enquiries conducted by the Force’s Safeguarding Department, James Wright, residing on Hampstead Road, Sunderland, was indicted on many charges pertaining to the maltreatment of the two women.
Following his appearance at Newcastle Crown Court in May, James Wright admitted guilt to several charges, including two counts of rape and two counts of assault.
Following the trial’s conclusion, Wright was taken into custody.
Today (Friday), he returned to the same court that imposed an eight-year prison sentence on him. He will additionally serve an extended licence period of four years following his release.
James Wright will remain on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life and has been issued two perpetual restraining orders to safeguard both victims, in addition to a lifelong Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
