Jamie Baker rapist sex offender Plymouth

Jamie Baker Plymouth Rapist recorded himself attacking and raping a lady. Appearing at Plymouth Crown Court Friday, June 28, Jamie Baker, 38, of no known address, was sentenced to 12 years in jail.

Following a trial, Jamie Baker was found guilty of two rape offences as well as one of wrongful imprisonment.

Jamie Baker contacted the woman, who he knew, asking her to visit him in May of last year, the court heard.

Jamie Baker barred the door with a chair, jammed the handle with a DVD player to make opening impossible and kept her in a room.

He turned on loud music and started his attack, dragging her by her hair with a tea towel and tying her hands. Twice he raped her.

Ignoring her requests to stop and slung her across the room, he told her to “go fetch the chips from the oven”.

Later, he presented the victim with video footage of the attack he had captured on his phone.

Jamie Baker entered not guilty to all accusations, but following a trial, he was found guilty of two counts of rape and one count of wrongful confinement but not guilty of sixteen counts against the same victim.

Today Jamie Baker showed up for court; the judge sentenced him to twelve years in jail.

“First and most importantly, I want to commend the victim’s bravery in coming forward to report such a nasty and horrible act and supporting the police investigation,” said Detective Constable Kate Dure of the Sexual Offences Investigation Team.

“We welcome the sentence passed by the judge; we will listen and you will be heard; hopefully, the result today gives others the confidence to come forward and report offences to us.”
