A repeat sexual offender, Jeffrey Hickey, and threat to women has been incarcerated once more.
Jeffrey Hickey, 41, was convicted following a trial on two charges of rape and one charge of indecent assault.
His victim was under 13 years old when the incidents occurred in the 1990s, whilst he was 16.
The court heard that Jeffrey Hickey sexually assaulted the victim, whose upbringing was devastated, leading her to resort to alcohol as a coping mechanism in later years.
The incident resurfaced for her almost a decade ago when she read in the Echo about Jeffrey Hickey’s conviction for sexual assault, although she did not come forward until 2018.
Jeffrey Hickey, whose previous victims comprise an elderly nursing home resident and solitary female students, was sentenced to 11 years in prison.
