A Guernsey Paedophile MALE adolescent, Jessica Garnham-Burton, has received a nearly three-year sentence in youth imprisonment for charges related to child sexual abuse, as reported by Guernsey Police.

The authorities reported that 18-year-old Jessica Garnham-Burton was apprehended in May 2024 for utilising the social media site Snapchat to communicate with minors.

Analysis of confiscated devices indicated that Jessica Garnham-Burton was impersonating a minor on the site, engaging in sexual conversations with two youngsters, and disseminating photos, according to law enforcement.

Jessica Garnham-Burton admitted guilt to ten charges, comprising six counts of producing obscene pictures of minors, and received a sentence of two years and eight months in adolescent imprisonment at the Royal Court.

Jessica Garnham-Burton was sentenced to two years and eight months in youth imprisonment during a hearing on Friday at the Royal Court for these charges, as well as for transmitting indecent messages and producing indecent photos of children.

Guernsey Police indicated that there was evidence of Jessica Garnham-Burton’s attempts to engage with the children, despite his awareness of their ages.

Device inspections also uncovered 51 illicit photos.

Guernsey Police said: “This case is a good example of why it is important as parents to monitor your children’s devices by using parental controls on wi-fi, devices and each app.

“And why we would always recommend you think carefully about what age you allow your children to have access to social media, all of which is age restricted to 13-plus.

“There will always be people out there seeking to take advantage of the anonymity many social media and gaming platforms afford.”
