Paedophile TV actor John Alford from former London’s Burning Glasgow is undergoing a trial on sex charges involving a girl under sixteen. Charged under his name, John Shannon, the 52-year-old became well-known in Grange Hill.
With a time estimate of seven days, John Alford, of Holloway, north London, is expected to stand trial at St Albans Crown Court from December 2 this year.
The CPS said John Alford is accused of four counts of sexual conduct with a child and two accusations about a second female – of sexual assault and assault by penetration.
The CPS claimed he had denied all charges at a plea hearing in September of last year.
The matter returns for a pre-trial review hearing on November 18 at St Albans Crown Court.
