John Harrington, an elderly individual, pursued two small children at Lidl while exposing himself and engaging in an obscene conduct.

While the children accompanied their mother for Christmas shopping at the Southport supermarket, a man on an electric mobility scooter followed them and leered at the young girl with his genitals exposed.

Their mother stated that the family was left “traumatised” and the small kid was “fearful that the man would harm him” following the 2019 event.

The 75-year-old man, John Harrington, indecently exposed himself to an 18-year-old student at a bus stop the following day, and after being charged for these offences, he engaged in a sexual act in the presence of an older individual with dementia in a care facility.

The perpetrator had awaited the expiration of a prior suspended sentence before locating his victims and informed the police that he “did it because he could.”

John Harrington, residing on Albert Road, Southport, acknowledged two violations of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), established due to a prior exposure incident, along with three charges of exposure. He was incarcerated for eight months.

Merseyside Police stated that they lacked his mugshot since he participated in a voluntary interview.
