An individual, John Wardle Bulwell Paedophile, who engages in manipulative and predatory behaviour of a sexual nature has been incarcerated for a series of crimes committed against minors.

John Wardle, currently 36 years old, committed certain offences during his childhood and others during his adulthood.

John Wardle first caught the attention of Nottinghamshire Police in 2018 after they received reports of many rape and sexual assault incidents that had occurred in the early 2000s.

Throughout the inquiry, detectives also discovered a sequence of sexual attacks on an adolescent kid who was in a vulnerable state, occurring as recently as 2017.

The child reported those assaults, which were disguised as medical checks, to the police after confiding in a third party.

John Wardle refuted all the accusations levelled against him and insinuated that his victims were fabricating the events.

Nevertheless, following a trial at Nottingham Crown Court in July, he was convicted of four charges: four counts of rape, rape of a child under 13, sexual assault, and sexual assault of a child under 13.

In addition, he was convicted of four more charges of engaging in sexual behaviour with a vulnerable individual.

The last trial jury could not obtain a verdict and was subsequently discharged.

John Wardle, who used to live in Bulwell, was sentenced to 22 years in Nottingham Crown Court on Tuesday.

In addition, he was included in the sex offenders register and received a restraining order that prohibited any further communication with his victims.

Detective Constable Chris Featonby, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“John Wardle is a manipulative sexual predator who preyed upon vulnerable victims he thought he could bully and control.

“Although his offending started as a child, it continued into adulthood.

“His actions have taken a significant toll on the individuals and their families, and I am pleased he has been brought to justice.

“No sentence can adequately repair the damage done, but I hope this lengthy prison sentence provides his victims with some degree of comfort.

“This has been a very lengthy and difficult process for them, and I admire their courage and tenacity.
