In March 2024, JonPaul Elessar, 38, a paedophile from Washington, surreptitiously captured nude photographs of the victim during a visit to his residence in South Tyneside, subsequently boasting to others about his actions.
Upon discovering the abuse, the victim promptly reported the incident to the police, resulting in Elessar’s arrest.
In a prior probe, JonPaul Elessar’s phone was scrutinised, revealing numerous obscene photographs of youngsters on the device.
Later that month, JonPaul Elessar, residing on Norfolk Drive in Washington, was charged in relation to both investigations.
Earlier this year, he appeared at Newcastle Crown Court, where he admitted guilt to one act of voyeurism and two charges of possessing indecent pictures of minors.
Last Monday, JonPaul Elessar revisited the same court where he received a sentence of one year and eight months of incarceration.
He will be placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for 10 years, subjected to a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), and issued a lifelong restraining order to safeguard the victim.
