Joshua Newell, a Worcestershire man, the Drakes Broughton Paedophile, was sentenced in court today (Friday, April 25) to three years and six months for the rape and sexual assault of a minor.

Joshua Newell, 33, of Peach Avenue, Drakes Broughton, was convicted of raping a girl under the age of 16 between 2005 and 2007, and of sexually assaulting another girl between 2007 and 2008 during a trial in February. He was below the age of 16 at the time of the offences.

Today at Worcester Crown Court, Joshua Newell received a sentence of three years and six months for these acts, along with three more charges of possessing obscene photographs to which he pleaded guilty. His age at the time of the offences was considered for punishment.

Joshua Newell was additionally mandated to register as a sex offender eternally.

The former involved convictions for producing an indecent photograph, namely an accessible Category A film of a child, and for creating indecent photographs, specifically two accessible Category B films of a kid.

Joshua Newell was convicted of possessing extreme pornographic images, specifically 14 extreme pornographic films that explicitly and realistically depicted an individual engaging in sexual acts with a live animal, which were grossly offensive, repugnant, or otherwise obscene, leading a reasonable person to perceive the individuals or animals as real.

The three crimes occurred between 2016 and 2022. He was additionally mandated to remit a victim surcharge of £115 in court today.
