Katie Birtles Grantham Transgender Paedophile

A registered child molester Grantham paedophile, Katie Birtles, who wilfully violated orders prohibiting Katie Birtles from contacting minors has been incarcerated.

Katie Birtles was born a biological male.

Katie Birtles, 40, of Wroxall Drive, Grantham, appeared at Lincoln Crown Court today (19 May) and received a sentence of four years and eight months in jail for Katie Birtles’ offences:

  • One count of engaging in sexual communication with a child.
  • One count of arranging/facilitating commission of offence of sexual activity.
  • Two counts of breaching their Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).

Katie Birtles will have an extended period of two years on license following Katie Birtles release.

A SHPO is a court-issued directive for an individual deemed a potential sexual threat to the public or a specific person. It comprises limits that may entail prohibitions on contacting children or certain individuals, limitations on internet usage, or constraints on travelling to designated regions.

Authorities were informed that a 40-year-old transgender paedophile planned to meet an individual. Katie Birtles believed that individual to be a 14-year-old child at Grantham train station on Thursday, January 16. Officers arrived and disrupted the gathering, subsequently apprehending Katie Birtles.

Chat logs retrieved from Katie Birtles’ phone indicated that Katie Birtles was transmitting sexually explicit communications and grooming minors under 16 years of age over a two-week span in January. Katie Birtles was explicitly promoting sexual engagement, proposing to purchase gifts like wine and chocolates, and arranging meetings with his victims for sexual encounters.

Katie Birtles was previously convicted of three counts of making indecent images of children in 2017, for which Katie Birtles was sentenced to nine months in prison. Katie Birtles was court ordered to comply with a 10-year SHPO, with one of the conditions preventing Katie Birtles from having any direct or indirect contact with children under 16 both online and offline.

Katie Birtles was charged on 18th January and was remanded into custody. Following today’s sentence, Birtles will remain on the sex offender’s register for life and will have an indefinite SHPO with a restriction on software monitoring.

Investigating officer DC Nicola Paradowski from the Paedophile Online Investigation Team (POLIT), said: “As a team we are dedicated to protecting the most vulnerable in our society and keeping children safe from harm, working long hours to make sure dangerous offenders such as Katie Birtles are brought to justice. I hope this sends a clear message that we will not tolerate child sexual exploitation in our county and will take robust action.

“Breaches to orders like the Sexual Harm Prevention Order will be dealt with, and action will be taken immediately, to ensure we continue to protect those at risk of most harm in our communities.”
