A “serial abuser” Keighley paedophile, Keith Lockwood, convicted of sexually assaulting seven young boys over a span of 30 years has been sentenced to 23 years in prison.

Keith Lockwood, aged 70, was sentenced following his conviction for 23 offences perpetrated on boys under the age of 16 during the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s in the Kirklees region.

Keith Lockwood, residing on Park Lane in Keighley, was sentenced at Leeds Crown Court on Friday.

Detective Constable Gilly Hodds stated that Keith Lockwood was culpable of a “atrocious series of offences against victims who were youthful and susceptible.”

She stated: “The victims in this case exhibited remarkable courage by coming forward and assisting both the police and CPS in pursuing action against a man, Keith Lockwood, who has been a serial child abuser while in a position of trust.”

This case exemplifies that victims can pursue and attain justice, even years after the offence has occurred.

West Yorkshire Police stated that Keith Lockwood’s name was already included on the sex offenders register and will remain there for life.
