Kenneth Light Chelmsley Wood Paedophile

The Chelmsley Wood Paedophile, Kenneth Light, was incarcerated for over eight years for the abuse of two young girls, subsequently sexually assaulting one of his victims again 13 years later.

Kenneth Light was found guilty of previous sexual crimes against minors aged five to ten, committed between 1998 and 2006.

His heinous offences were revealed following his sexual attack of one victim again in 2016, when she was in her twenties, which resurfaced her childhood trauma.

She informed the police, and specialised officers from the force’s public safety branch were able to substantiate that he had mistreated her and another girl over several years.

Kenneth Light, residing on Chelmsley Road in Chelmsley Wood, was convicted following a trial and subsequently sentenced to eight years and eight months in prison at Birmingham Crown Court on 23 September of this year.

He was additionally placed on the sex offender registry.

Detective Inspector Wes Martin stated: “Kenneth Light has left his victims permanently traumatised due to his heinous offences, having abused one as a child and again as an adult.”

Unfortunately, we suspect that there may be others who have not felt empowered to disclose or recount the atrocities committed against them.

“We acknowledge the profound trauma of such experiences; however, we have specialised officers available for consultation and encourage anyone who believes they have been victimised to come forward.”
