A Wellingborough Paedophile sex offender, Kevin Walton, who enticed a teenage girl from Kirklees to meet him and then reached out to her pals has been sentenced to over three years in prison.
Kevin Walton, aged 50, of Holme Close, Wellingborough, was sentenced to three years and nine months in prison at Leeds Crown Court on Monday, April 28, for several offences involving four underage females.
Kevin Walton was found guilty of two counts of inducing a female aged 13 or older to participate in non-penetrative sexual behaviour, and three counts of inciting a juvenile aged 13 to 15 to view an image of sexual activity.
Kevin Walton was incarcerated for engaging with a kid under 16 after grooming, committing three counts of sexual communication with a child, and three charges of inducing a child under 13 to view imagery of sexual activity.
The offence occurred in late summer 2024 after Kevin Walton reached out to the victim over social media while impersonating a 19-year-old.
In October, he encountered the victim and perpetrated the contact sexual crimes for which he was convicted.
The 50-year-old, Kevin Walton, also contacted three of the victim’s acquaintances and subjected them to misconduct by sending pornographic pictures.
In late 2024, allegations of the offences were reported to the police, prompting a comprehensive investigation by specialised child safeguarding detectives in Kirklees.
Kevin Walton was identified and subsequently detained in December 2024, before being charged later.
Detective Inspector Paul Greatorex of the Kirklees District Child Safeguarding Unit, said: “”We wish to thank the victims for coming forward and disclosing what has happened.
“Their bravery and courage means that Kevin Walton, who is a dangerous individual and has used social media to mask his true identity, has been held accountable for his predatory behaviour.
“On release from prison Kevin Walton will also be subject to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention order which makes it a further criminal offence for him to again try and contact children.”
He added: “We continue to urge all victims of sexual offences to come forwards. All reports are investigated with the needs of the victim at the heart of everything we do.”
