A rapist, Kieran Cole, fled into the darkness, leaving his female victim in tears from the heinous experience after a night at the pub.
On Friday, Kieran Cole, 20, received a four-year prison sentence following his conviction for rape last month.
The dreadful incident occurred in Waverley Park, Bonnyrigg, following the Midlothian man’s night spent with companions at a nearby tavern.
Kieran Cole, aged 18 at the time, assaulted his victim before fleeing into the darkness as she wept. A nearby resident assisted her as Kieran Cole returned to a friend’s residence.
He thereafter returned to his residence in Gorebridge accompanied by another woman, as Lord Summers remarked that Kieran Cole was “unaware” of the seriousness of his actions.
After a trial, Kieran Cole was convicted by a jury and sentenced to four years in incarceration.
He was additionally registered as a sex offender and issued a non-harassment order for an indefinite duration.
