Kieron White sexual assault - Witney

“I AM nothing but a screw-up…I am so sorry,” is a text message allegedly sent by a man, Kieron White, the Witney Rapist, standing trial for sexual assault.

Kieron White is currently facing trial at Oxford Crown Court, where he is being charged with a single act of assault by penetration and a single count of sexual assault.

On March 19, 2022, a 27-year-old individual was accused of sexually assaulting an intoxicated woman at a location in Witney. The woman’s identity cannot be disclosed due to legal restrictions.

Kieron White has refuted the accusation and is currently undergoing a trial, which is anticipated to span a duration of four to five days.

On Wednesday (August 28), during the commencement of the trial, prosecution barrister Julian Lynch provided the jury with a concise summary of the case.

“At the time of the offence, Mr Kieron White, who had been a victim of a stabbing, was compelled to relocate from his residence. Despite this, he and the perpetrator were friends.”

Occasionally, they would socialise and enjoy an evening beverage together.

“On March 12, the duo accompanied a group of acquaintances to the local tavern.”

In the morning, she experienced a sensation that she might have engaged in sexual activity, although she had no recollection of it. She confronted Mr Kieron White about it initially, and he initially denied any wrongdoing, claiming that nothing had occurred. However, a few days later, he admitted that they had engaged in sexual activity.

“The sexual encounter occurred while under the influence of alcohol, but the prosecution argued that it was consensual.”

“This is significant for three reasons: firstly, Mr. Kieron White had a sexual attraction towards [her]; secondly, he was able to engage in sexual activity despite his injuries; and thirdly, he is willing to acknowledge engaging in sexual activity when pressured.”

According to Mr. Lynch, a few days later, the two of them went out drinking again, and Kieron White supposedly assaulted the woman upon their return to her home.

“Several days later, she confronts him,” stated the barrister. “Initially, he exhibited reticence and evaded her enquiries, but subsequently, she resorted to deception by claiming to possess surveillance equipment capable of reviewing the events.”

“He admitted to making physical contact with her at that juncture.”

In subsequent text messages, Kieron White expressed remorse and self-deprecation: “I am merely a failure, a disorganised individual. I apologise and comprehend if you choose not to communicate with me.”

The complainant responded by expressing their perplexity and disbelief at the actions taken against them. “I had confidence in your reliability.”

White purportedly replied: “I apologise sincerely.”

According to Mr Lynch, the purported texts were deemed ‘serious’ because Kieron White supposedly does not refute the charges when confronted by the woman.

The nature of his defence remains undisclosed.
