Prolific Paedophile Lamar Thompson from Tacoma has received a life sentence without the possibility of parole after being convicted of several charges of child molestation, as reported by the Tacoma Police Department.
The TPD reported that Lamar Thompson, a Level II Registered Sex Offender, was identified in 2018 when police found a phone containing child sexual abuse content at a neighbourhood establishment. Lamar Thompson’s designation as a category II offender originated from a 2016 child molestation case in King County.
Subsequent to the discovery of Lamar Thompson’s phone, his case was sent to a detective from the TPD’s Internet Crimes Against Children unit. Detectives identified Lamar Thompson as the owner of the phone using digital forensics.
Detectives utilised metadata from Lamar Thompson’s phone to identify a house in Tacoma, where they ultimately discovered three “local child victims.”
During the inquiry, Lamar Thompson was subject to active supervision by the Department of Corrections,” stated the TPD. He was apprehended and, with the aid of the Department of Homeland Security, was federally charged with Manufacturing and Possessing Child Pornography. Subsequent forensic examination of several digital devices confiscated from Thompson’s apartment uncovered hundreds of thousands of photographs, resulting in the definitive identification of a fourth juvenile victim.
In March 2023, Tacoma police reported that Lamar Thompson, following several trial postponements, entered a guilty plea in federal court for the manufacturing and possession of child sexual assault material.
He was then sentenced to 28 years in federal incarceration, followed by lifelong supervision, as reported by the TPD.
“After his federal sentencing, Lamar Thompson was transferred to Pierce County to face additional charges related to the previously identified victims,” wrote the TPD. “On March 20, 2025, a jury found Thompson guilty of two counts of Child Molestation in the First Degree and one count of Attempted Child Molestation in the First Degree.”
On May 2, 2025, a Pierce County Superior Court judge sentenced Thompson to life without the possibility of parole. Thank God.
