A 46-year-old man from Co Armagh, Lee Sheffield, has been charged with attempting to engage in sexual communication with a minor.
Lee Sheffield, residing at Tandragee Road in Portadown, is purported to have perpetrated the act between October 29 and November 7, 2023, as indicated in his charge sheet.
A prosecutor stated that Lee Sheffield possessed no prior criminal record.
A defence attorney informed Craigavon Magistrates’ Court that it is “an agent provocateur case.”
He stated that the defendant’s objective is to enter a plea of guilty.
The case was postponed to February 28, when a determination will be made either its retention in the Magistrates’ Court or its transfer to the Crown Court.
