Lee Young rapist sex offender - Leicester

Lee Young, the Leicester Rapist, has been sentenced to over six years in prison after being convicted of vicious sexual assaults.

In the early hours of Saturday, November 16, 2019, Lee Young entered the residence of his acquaintance uninvited while she was sleeping on the sofa. Upon awakening, Young commenced kissing her and professing his love while she attempted to extricate herself from his grasp. Lee Young subsequently exhibited aggression, hurling objects about her living area, before perpetrating sexual assault against her.

During the event, the woman successfully contacted emergency services discreetly by pushing the side button on her iPhone five times, which automatically dialled 999.

Lee Young was then apprehended by law enforcement in proximity after being discovered concealed in a front garden. During the interview, he refrained from responding to all enquiries posed by the police.

On Tuesday, 24 September, Lee Young was found guilty of one count of assault by penetration following a trial at Leicester Crown Court. On Friday (27 September), the 39-year-old was sentenced to six years and eight months imprisonment.

Lee Young, of Sharpley Drive, Beaumont Leys, was also placed on the sex offender register for life.

Detective Constable Rachael Lee, the investigating officer, said: “This was undoubtedly a harrowing ordeal for the victim, which she had to relive in front of a jury.

“She has shown a tremendous amount of bravery and courage throughout the investigation and trial. I hope the fact he’s now serving a prison sentence for his crimes brings her a sense that justice has finally been done and allows her to move on with her life.”

“I also hope this case provides some reassurance to the public that such a dangerous individual is now off the streets.”
