Leo Farodoye, a child sex offender paedophile from Nottingham has received a sentence of 11 years and four months for the assault of two adolescent girls in a Manchester flat.
Leo Farodoye (08/05/1990) of North Road, Nottingham, was sentenced on Friday, 20 September 2024, at Manchester Crown Court for various child sexual offences, including inciting a child to engage in a sexual act, breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), committing a sexual act with a child, and producing indecent photographs of a child. He was sentenced to 7 years and four months, accompanied by an extended licence of 4 years.
Leo Farodoye had previously been convicted at Manchester Crown Court on Friday, 24 May 2024. He also breached a previous Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) from 2014.
The court heard how Nottingham-based Leo Farodoye had booked an Airbnb apartment in the city centre of Manchester on 12 December 2023 to cover the period of 18 – 27 February this year. He had booked it to enjoy a relaxing weekend with his wife.
When turning up at the apartment on Sunday, 18 February 2024, he was seen with two young females. As this differed from what he had told the owner, the police were called, and the alarm was raised.
When officers attended the location, Farodoye escaped via an upstairs window. The two females confirmed they were aged just 15 and 17. It was further disclosed to police that they had travelled across the UK to meet with Farodoye, assuming they were taking part in a photography shoot.
One of the victims described how she had first met with Farodoye at an address in Nottingham in October 2023, during which she was supplied with alcohol before photographs were taken of her. She was also subjected to the first sexual assault.
It was noted in court that when the officers attended at Turner Street, it was clear that photography equipment had been set up in various rooms, including lighting and backdrop screens. A search also revealed extensive amounts of sexualised underwear and clothing, quantity of cash and white powder in a bottle.
He later attempted to discard a photography equipment backpack, recovered in Manchester city centre.
Farodoye was subsequently arrested for sexual activity with a child and was interviewed under caution at Pendleton Police Station on the evening of Wednesday, 21 February 2024. He was also further arrested on suspicion of rape, breach of SHPO and Registered Sex Offender (RSO) requirements.
Temporary Detective Constable Olivia Lonergan of the Child Protection Investigation Unit said: “Farodoye is a dangerous child predator, and the streets are safer with him behind bars.
“We are incredibly grateful to the victims, who have shown significant strength and bravery in supporting this prosecution. We hope that today’s result goes some way to helping them heal and come to terms with what has happened to them.
“Identifying, locating and stopping child sex offenders in their tracks remains a priority for Greater Manchester Police and we would urge anyone who has been subjected to abuse, or anyone who knows someone who has, to get in contact with us.
“We have many specialist officers within GMP who support victims and their families through reporting and subsequent prosecution.
