Lloyd Sands rapist sex offender - Canterbury

A guy, Lloyd Sands Canterbury Rapist, who sexually assaulted a lady in the Canterbury area has been sentenced to 12 years in jail.

Lloyd Sands was apprehended in October 2019, shortly after his victim reported the crimes to the police.

An inquiry revealed that he committed the act of rape on his acquaintance while she was asleep and even after she had stated her lack of consent.

In addition, he captured a violation on video, which was discovered on his phone during the investigation.

Lloyd Sands faced charges of rape, attempted rape, and voyeurism and was found guilty after a trial at Canterbury Crown Court.

The individual, aged 30 and previously residing in Plymouth, Devon, appeared in court on Friday, August 23, 2024, and received a 12-year prison sentence.

Detective Sergeant David Hinwood, the investigating officer of Kent Police, stated:

‘Lloyd Sands refused to acknowledge accountability for these heinous crimes, thereby compelling his victim to relive her traumatic experience in the courtroom.

‘I commend her for reporting him and supporting the prosecution. I hope the ensuing incarceration provides her with a feeling of resolution as she perseveres in reconstructing her life. I strongly encourage anyone who has experienced sexual assaults perpetrated by an acquaintance to report it to us promptly. We will assist and collaborate to ensure the wrongdoer is held accountable and brought to legal proceedings.
