Authorities reported that a Stratford Paedophile, Luke Poland, who voyeuristically observed youngsters in H&M fitting rooms and raped a girl did so to fulfil his ‘disturbing fantasies.’ Luke Poland, 27, of Percy Street, Stratford, admitted guilt to charges of sexual assault, engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a minor, exposure, voyeurism, and deliberately attempting to get a 15-year-old girl to partake in sexual activity.
Luke Poland’s series of assaults, involving minors, commenced in 2019 when he sexually abused a 12-year-old girl at his residence. In 2019, he established an online friendship with a 14-year-old girl by masquerading as a peer of the same age. Subsequent to the girl transmitting a photograph of herself, he responded with an explicit image of himself.
In 2021, Luke Poland indecently exposed himself to a waitress when she was serving him at a restaurant in Stratford. Last year, he endeavoured to get a 15-year-old girl into his vehicle in Coventry.
In January of this year, law enforcement was summoned to H&M on The Parade in Leamington after a staff member reported that a male had utilised his phone to record two young girls in the changing room. Subsequent to a public CCTV appeal, Luke Poland was identified as the perpetrator and apprehended by law enforcement.
On Wednesday (March 19) he was sentenced to 34 months in prison at Warwick Crown Court. Luke Poland was also made subject of an indeifinte Sexual Harm Prevention Order and ordered to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register indefinitely.
‘Danger to young girls’
Detective Constable Simon Harvey from Leamington CID, who investigated the incident in The Parade, Leamington, said: “Luke Poland has a concerning sexual interest in children and is quite willing to act on his disturbing fantasies. He quite clearly poses a danger to young girls and deserves to be in prison.
“I would like to thank the members of the public who responded to our CCTV appeal. The information they provided helped us to bring Luke Poland to justice.”
Detective Constable Matt Cowley, who investigated the other offences, added: “I would like to praise the bravery of all Luke Poland’s victims. Their support resulted in the conviction of an offender whose predatory behaviour was clearly becoming increasingly dangerous.
“Hopefully, the outcome will give other victims of sexual offences the confidence to come forward in the knowledge that they will be listened to and supported, and that police will do everything in their power to bring dangerous offenders to justice.”
