Mackenzie Phillips incest with father John Phillips

Actress Mackenzie Phillips reveals an alleged decade-long incestuous relationship with her father. Mackenzie Phillips is the offspring of John Phillips, the main vocalist of The Mamas & The Papas.

Actor Mackenzie Phillips has alleged that her father, John, the lead vocalist of the 1960s band The Mamas & The Papas, assaulted her for a duration of ten years.

She asserts that their incestuous relationship ultimately became ‘consensual’ after he trapped her in a variant of ‘Stockholm syndrome’.

Upon Phillips’ demise at the age of 65 in 2001, no one could have anticipated the revelations that would emerge a few years later.

The Mamas & The Papas were infamous for their drug-induced altercations, and John was as known for his behaviour while intoxicated.

Nonetheless, drugs and alcohol were purportedly not his sole offences.

Mackenzie Phillips, the actress from One Day at a Time and daughter of the frontman and Susan Adams, revealed information that astonished the music industry and those acquainted with them.

In 2009, she published her book, High on Arrival, in which she claimed to have endured a decade-long incestuous connection with her father.

Although her stepmother, Michelle Phillips, asserted that she was deceitful, her sister Chynna has remained supportive of her.

During an appearance on Chynna’s YouTube channel, Mackenzie disclosed the purported abuse she endured from her father and explained her rationale for deeming it ‘consensual.’

In an interview with People, it was elucidated how it all commenced in the late 1970s following a drug-induced gathering.

“I had tons of pills, and Dad had tons of everything, too. Eventually, I passed out on Dad’s bed,” she claimed.

She went on the add that when she woke up, she was being raped by her dad without her giving any kind of consent.

She said: “Had this happened before? I didn’t know. All I can say is it was the first time I knew it.”

When she appeared on Oprah years later after her book came out, she said that it progressed and continued to happen:

“Fast-forward…and it’s 1981, maybe, and we’re touring, and I begin waking up after drug-fuelled events with my pants around my ankles and my father sleeping beside me.”

She added that she had to forget about it: “Again, ‘Don’t think, don’t look, just keep going.'”

Mackenzie added: “It didn’t happen every day, it didn’t happen every week, but it certainly happened, and it happened enough times.”

After the initial assault, she claimed that she began a consensual sexual relationship with her father.

She said: “It’s sort of the Stockholm Syndrome, where you begin to love your captor. And I felt great love for my father.”

It only ended after she became pregnant, and she couldn’t be sure of who the father was.

In their YouTube video, Chynna told her sister: “When I stood by you, I meant it with all my heart.

“And I believed you and want you to know that I was proud of you for coming out, even though it was painful for everybody.”
