Marc Alexander Simon, the Walnut Creek Pedophile, received a nearly seven-year jail sentence for sexually assaulting a kid at the Walnut Creek Library and for possessing child sexual abuse material, prosecutors revealed on Friday.

On Thursday, a court sentenced 28-year-old Marc Alexander Simon to six years and eight months in state prison following his guilty plea, as reported by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office. Marc Alexander Simon was mandated to register as a sex offender for life upon his release.

On April 11, 2024, Marc Alexander Simon entered a lavatory at the Walnut Creek Library, trailing a youngster, and perpetrated sexual abuse on the juvenile, who subsequently reported the event to an adult. The adult notified law enforcement, and detectives utilised surveillance footage to recognise Marc Alexander Simon’s vehicle upon his departure from the library, according to the District Attorney’s Office.

Marc Alexander Simon was located at a different site in Walnut Creek, where he was apprehended. An iPhone confiscated upon his apprehension was found to contain several photographs and videos of child sexual exploitation.

Marc Alexander Simon, having been in detention since his apprehension, commenced completing his sentence immediately.

“The swift investigative work by Walnut Creek Police and our Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force was crucial in holding the defendant accountable,” said District Attorney Diana Becton in a prepared statement. “This case demonstrates our unwavering commitment to protecting children in our communities from those who prey on them.”
