A Paedophile, Marian-Darius Neagu, convicted of repeatedly raping and sexually assaulting a schoolgirl has been sentenced to prison. Marian-Darius Neagu, 32 years old, systematically harassed the girl for six years and was reported to Nottinghamshire Police in August of this year.
During his questioning with specialised child abuse investigators, he originally provided no comment responses, but thereafter admitted guilt to five counts of rape, nine acts of sexual assault, and three counts of inducing a girl to participate in sexual conduct.
On Monday, March 24, Marian-Darius Neagu, formerly of Nottingham, was sentenced to an enhanced term of 13 years at Nottingham Crown Court.
He was permanently placed on the sex offenders’ registry and issued a restraining order prohibiting any future contact with the victim.
Upon his release from incarceration, Marian-Darius Neagu will be subjected to a sexual harm prevention order that will severely limit his access to minors.
Detective Constable Elizabeth Williams, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“Marian-Darius Neagu is a calculating sexual predator who subjected this child to a prolonged campaign of sexual abuse.
“These assaults grew more and more serious over time and have unsurprisingly had a profound impact on the victim.
“So, as Marian-Darius Neagu starts this very long jail sentence I would like to pay tribute to her for the bravery she has shown throughout the legal process.
“The evidence she provided us with was compelling and really left her abuser with little option but to plead guilty to these heinous offences.”
