Paedophile Mark Mitchell (53, of Orton Road in Warton) was sentenced at Warwick Crown Court to 21 months in prison for sexually assaulting a girl under 13 and encouraging another girl to have sex.
Mark Mitchell will also have to register as a sex offender after receiving a ten-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and a ten-year restraining order.
At 5pm on March 24, 2019, police received a complaint alleging Mark Mitchell had unlawfully grabbed the groin of a 12-year-old girl for about 15 minutes.
Early on in March, the girl messaged a friend, stating, “Scared, need to tell you, can’t even tell mum,” and “Mark sexually abused me.” The buddy reported to her mother, who contacted the victim’s parents.
Fearful of getting Mark Mitchell into trouble, the girl had not first wanted to notify her parents, but she finally told them what had transpired. Soon after, her parents phoned the police.
