Following a “catalogue” of internet sexual transgressions against minors, a child molester, Mark Stewart Warwick Paedophile, has been caught. To a girl he believed to be under the age of 13, Mark Stewart sent sexually explicit communications using an online messaging platform.
The 32-year-old, Mark Stewart, was also found to have exchanged explicit photographs of himself, asked for indecent images from different kid personas, and encouraged them to engage in sexual activity during further online interactions by Warwickshire Police.
His efforts informed the South West Regional Organised Crime Unit (SWROCU), who called the local force. Mark Stewart was detained at his Kempton Drive, Warwick house at the end of June last year.
Officers found two cell phones in Mark Stewart’s house, and later, a forensic investigation showed he had been engaged in several years of multiple sexually charged communications.
At a previous court appearance, Mark Stewart pleaded guilty to:
- eight counts of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity
- two counts of causing or inciting the sexual exploitation of a child
- three counts of engaging in sexual communication with a child
- two counts of causing a child to watch a sexual act
- three counts of making indecent photographs of a child
- one count of attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity
- two counts of attempting sexual communication with a child
Attending Warwick Crown Court on Friday, August 2, Mark Stewart received a ten-year and three-month jail sentence. Along with a lifetime Sex Offender Notification obligation, he also received a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
“Mark Stewart is a nasty sexual predator that has rightfully been handed a significant jail sentence for his crimes,” DI David Wells of the SWROCU said.
“We are dedicated to helping UK police forces safeguard children from harm, lowering risk in our communities and ensuring dangerous people like Stewart are found and prosecuted.”
Leading the inquiry, Detective Sergeant Rachel Priestley of Warwickshire Police’s Online Child Sexual Exploitation Team (OCSET) said: “This case shows our dedication to safeguarding children from online abuse.
“Mark Stewart’s more than ten-year sentence for a record of internet sexual offences against children shows the joint efforts of Warwickshire Police with partner law enforcement agencies, the CPS and safeguarding organisations to bring perpetrators to justice.
“Our team is dedicated to guaranteeing victims’ protection; supporting them is vital for what we do.
“I would want to honour the victims in this instance for their extraordinary bravery and fortitude. As shown in the punishment, achieving justice depends on their eagerness to assist the inquiry. Their bravery helps shield other youngsters from injury.
