A Northwich Paedophile PERVERT, Mark Woodcock, received a 23-year term for at least 27 sexual crimes involving two youngsters on Snapchat.

Mark Woodcock, from Northwich, will serve six years of his sentence on extended licence following his sentencing last week at Chester Crown Court.

Cheshire Police said that a 29-year-old resident of Belmont Road, Mark Woodcock, was apprehended in November 2023 for engaging in sexual contacts with a minor on Snapchat.

His laptop and phone revealed his engagement in sexual contacts with another minor on the same application, and he possessed numerous indecent photographs.

Mark Woodcock was reticent during the police questioning, offering only a pre-prepared statement in which he asserted that no one had ever identified himself to him as underage.

He confessed to 27 sexual offences, including attempting to engage in sexual communication with a minor, attempting to induce a minor to participate in sexual conduct, and attempting to compel a minor to observe sexual activity.

Mark Woodcock also confessed to creating indecent photos of a child, possessing indecent images of a child, and possessing indecent images of an animal.

In addition to his term, he will be have to register as a sex offender for the remainder of his life.

Detective Constable Stacey Thompson, of Cheshire Police, said: “I welcome the sentence handed to Mark Woodcock, who was left with no choice but to plead guilty to all of the charges as a result of the messages and indecent images that we discovered on his devices.

“He was well aware that his victims were underage, and as a 29-year-old man he knew what he was doing was wrong, but despite this he continued with his deceitful actions.

“Through the use of social media, he specifically targeted young girls, plying them with sexualised messages and indecent images in order to fulfil his own sexual desires.

“Thankfully, as a result of the evidence we gathered, Mark Woodcock has now been held accountable for his actions and is facing a significant time behind bars where he can reflect upon his actions.”
