An older man, Martin Parker, the Evercreech paedophile, utilised the internet to organise a rendezvous to engage in sexual abuse of a minor girl. Martin Parker, a 76-year-old resident of Evercreech, has been sentenced to nine years in prison. This includes a four-year term of imprisonment, followed by an additional five years to be served under supervision.
Substantial evidence was collected to demonstrate his extensive communication through many communications during February and March of the current year. In May, Martin Parker was apprehended at his residence and admitted guilt to a single charge of orchestrating the involvement of a minor under the age of 13 in sexual activities.
The septuagenarian was oblivious that his internet behaviour was under scrutiny by law enforcement. This measure ensured that no child was exposed to any potential danger.
Martin Parker was detained in custody before receiving a sentence at Taunton Crown Court on the 19th of July. In addition to his incarceration, he was issued a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and will be permanently listed as a sex offender. Judge Edward Burgess described Martin Parker’s acts as “thoroughly reprehensible and disrespectful.”
Temporary Detective Sergeant Harvey Ahern, the investigating officer, stated that Avon and Somerset Police is dedicated to safeguarding children and prosecuting individuals who want to cause them harm, whether through online or in-person means.
“There are no secure locations for wrongdoers to conceal themselves that we will not discover.”
