Paedophile Martin Rudd, 45, of Elizabeth Street, Blackpool, appeared in Preston Crown Court on Thursday, April 24, where he was sentenced to 20 months’ imprisonment after pleading guilty to attempted sexual communication with a child, attempted breach of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, and breach of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
The court was informed that between 10 January and 22 January 2025, Martin Rudd participated in sexual communication with a male under the age of 16. During those discussions, Rudd articulated the sexual actions he intended to perform with the youngster.
In March 2025, Martin Rudd was apprehended at his residence by officers from the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit (NWROCU). He was determined to have violated his Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
Detective Constable Aria Mahoney of the NWROCU stated:
“Martin Rudd was fully aware he was breaching his Sexual Harm Prevention Order by sexually communicating with a child under the age of 16 but that didn’t stop him.
“Today is a testament to our team’s commitment and dedication to ensure that dangerous individuals are identified and brought to justice.
