A child sex offender, Martin Wynne Newcastle-under-Lyme Paedophile, who perpetrated historical offences against multiple victims in Staffordshire has been sentenced to 14 years in prison.

Martin Wynne, 50, of Newcastle-under-Lyme, was found guilty of his offences after a four-week trial that ended last November at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.

The incidents occurred between the 1990s and early 2000s.

Martin Wynne was reported to us in the year 2020. Since that time, we have diligently endeavoured to collect all necessary evidence to prosecute him for his offences and to assist the survivors.

Martin Wynne faced 18 charges, comprising 15 counts of indecent assault on a male minor, two counts of inducing a male minor to engage in an act of gross indecency, and one case of gross indecency with a male minor.

A jury convicted him on all 18 charges.

On Tuesday, February 18, Martin Wynne was sentenced to 14 years of imprisonment at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.

DS Rebecca Mulcahy, from our child protection team, said: “We’re determined to secure justice for survivors of sexual offences and ensure those responsible are dealt with robustly and appropriately.

“I would encourage anyone to come forward to report these crimes regardless of when the abuse occurred.

“I’m really pleased that the jury took all of the evidence into consideration and have helped us to secure the outcome for the many survivors in this case who showed immeasurable courage to come forward after all this time.”
