An Armley Paedophile, Matthew Bradshaw, has been sentenced to 25 years in prison after confessing to sexual offences against children and creating indecent photographs.

Matthew Bradshaw, 30, was given an extended sentence at Leeds Crown Court yesterday (Thursday).

Detectives from Leeds District Safeguarding Unit launched an investigation into Bradshaw, of Heights Drive in Armley, after he was convicted of sexually assaulting a two-year-old girl in 2021.

Matthew Bradshaw was placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register and given a community order, allowing officers to confiscate and examine his devices.

Checks on these devices revealed that he had kept indecent photos. Further investigations revealed that Matthew Bradshaw had committed more sexual offences against the girl and two other victims.

Matthew Bradshaw was arrested and charged with three counts of rape of a girl under 13, sexual assault of a child under 13, four counts of making indecent images of children, four counts of possessing indecent images of children, two counts of voyeurism, one count of distributing an indecent image of a child, and one count of possessing extreme pornographic images.

After Matthew Bradshaw was jailed, Detective Sergeant Claire Salkeld of the Leeds District Child Safeguarding Unit said:

“These were really heinous crimes done against young children.

“Matthew Bradshaw was already on the Sex Offenders’ Register, and these charges were discovered as a result of investigations on his online activity.

“As a result of our investigations, we were able to identify and protect his victims, as well as assist their families at what was an extremely terrible time for them.

“The sentence that Matthew Bradshaw has been given has ensured that a dangerous sexual predator is now behind bars.”
