Matthew Prescott asserted that his photographs depicting the sexual assault of minors were amassed by one of his perverse alter personas.
The paedophile informed a therapist that his most recent collection of abhorrent images and videos was not his fault, but rather that of ‘Alex’.
Alex is one of five personas that the 27-year-old convicted sex offender claims has overtaken him, asserting: “Alex was solely self-serving. I have attempted to eliminate him numerous times.”
Matthew Prescott, residing on Cotham Street in St Helens, downloaded around 2,000 films and images, and additionally disseminated some of them.
His residence was searched in June of the previous year, during which the abhorrent cache was uncovered, followed by the discovery of additional disturbing photographs on April 15 of this year.
Matthew Prescott confessed to four charges of downloading, two charges of having, and one charge of distributing indecent photographs of children.
Matthew Prescott was incarcerated for two and a half years.
