A deviant pervert, Matthew Taylor Hastings Rapist, who lured a woman from a busy pub to a nearby beach to assault her has been jailed for more than six years.

Following his conversation with the woman in her 20s, during a night out on February 12, Matthew Taylor, 31, from Hastings, executed the “appalling, opportunistic attack.”

Claire Gallagher of the Crown Prosecution Service said, “As soon as they got to the beach, his behaviour immediately changed, and he started to attack her.” She was fresh to the town and thought he was being friendly.

Lewes Crown Court found Matthew Taylor guilty of rape, then jailed him for six and a half years.

“This was an awful opportunistic attack on a woman new to the town who thought Taylor was being friendly when he first approached her,” Ms Gallagher said.

Instead, Matthew Taylor intended to entice her away from a crowded area so he could drive himself on her.

His conduct changed right away, and he began attacking her as soon as they arrived at the beach.

Matthew Taylor disregarded her repeated objections that she did not consent to any sexual intercourse with him, therefore causing her to go through a horrific experience.

From Sussex Police’s safeguarding investigations team, Detective Sergeant Elizabeth Pike hailed the woman for her “incredible” bravery in approaching Matthew Taylor to disclose the attack and attending court for the trial.

“This is sadly something she will carry with her always, but I hope this sentence will at least help her reconstruct her life.” Ms. Pike mentioned.

She complimented the police for handling the matter: “His sentence shows our will to apprehend offenders and get justice for victims who come forward to us.”

“We take all rape and sexual offence reports very seriously, and support is available on the Sussex Police website for victims and survivors.”

Matthew Taylor also registered as a Sex Offender. Regarding the same woman, he was cleared of a second charge of rape.
