Max Hankinson, a former tennis captain, has refuted allegations of molesting a teenage girl at his club.

Max Hankinson, 27, the captain of the senior male squad of Angmering Lawn Tennis Club, pleaded not guilty to three charges of sexual assault.

Hankinson refuted allegations of having touched the young woman, now in her 20s, at the club in 2020, as presented before Lewes Crown Court.

He served as the captain of the men’s first team at that time.

Max Hankinson, from Angmering, was told he will have to wait a year before his trial can be heard.

Angmering Lawn Tennis Club in the village of East Preston is described as one of the top venues in West Sussex.

It has seven floodlit courts, a mini court and clubhouse with bar and shop.

Max Hankinson will appear again at Lewes Crown Court in August next year.
