The Ayrshire Paedophile, Michael Christie, has received a 16-year prison sentence for sexual and violent offences in Ayrshire.

Michael Christie, 52, was sentenced in the High Court in Glasgow on Monday, 12 May 2025, following his conviction at the same court on 11 April.

The offences occurred in Ayr, Saltcoats, and Troon from 2003 to 2020, involving sexual crimes against a woman and violent assaults on her and a child.

Detective Chief Inspector Jennifer McCulloch of Ayrshire CID stated: “We recognise the sentencing of Michael Christie, who will now confront the repercussions of his actions.”

“This was a harrowing case for the victims involved and I want to thank them as well as my team for their exceptional work on this case.

“We remain committed to thoroughly investigating those responsible for these types of crimes and bringing them to justice.

“Any form of sexual abuse is a serious criminal offence and is a priority for Police Scotland. We encourage anyone with concerns about abuse, or a potential victim, to contact police immediately.”
