Mohamed Elshamy rapist sex offender - Hastings

Mohamed Elshamy, a Hastings Rapist predator, abducted a woman from her Christmas party and sexually attacked her on a beach.

Mohamed Elshamy encountered the woman at The Crypt, Robertson Street, Hastings, during the early hours of Sunday, December 18, of the previous year.

Shortly after that, Mohamed Elshamy was observed escorting her from the club through an underpass to the seafront, where CCTV footage documented his aggressive attempts to kiss her and tug at her clothing.

Subsequent footage depicted him further sexually assaulting the 24-year-old woman on the beach before departing and leaving her isolated and in despair.

Mohamed Elshamy, 41, unemployed, residing on Carlisle Parade, Hastings, was recognised via CCTV footage and apprehended on allegations of sexual assault.

Mohamed Elshamy pleaded not guilty but was convicted after a Lewes Crown Court trial.

At the same court on June 26, Mohamed Elshamy was sentenced to six years’ imprisonment and was added to the Sex Offenders’ Register.

Investigating officer DC Kelly Yates said: “Mohamed Elshamy had only met the victim for a matter of minutes before taking advantage of the fact she was intoxicated and in a vulnerable state and sexually assaulting her for his gratification.

“The victim was not only left with physical injuries from the assault but severe psychological scars requiring ongoing treatment and support.

“This assault will have a lasting impact on her, and I commend her bravery in coming forward and providing evidence to help us secure this conviction.

“Elshamy’s behaviour was dangerous and predatory, and we’re pleased to see the severity of his actions in a custodial sentence.”
